About Emmeke van der Meulen
Emmeke van der Meulen established L’Atelier Studio Antiques South Africa in 1990, after founding a restoration company in Philadelphia, USA in 1980; and in 1984, founded a restoration school in Brussels, conducting daily theory and practical seminars and workshops.
Emmeke has had the privilege of conserving and restoring antique furniture housed in South African state and historic government collections, national museums, private and corporate historic homes and estates.
Emmeke has lectured in antique furniture conservation and restoration at Stellenbosch University Museology students and is the expert on antique furniture for the South African History and Heritage Council.
